Travel Itinerary
Day 1 - Kigali to Akagera, Afternoon Boat Ride
Leave Kigali by 08:30 am.
From Kigali, mid-way: Stop-over by Imigongo Art Centre and cafe for leg stretching.
Reach at Akagera by 12:00 am, proceed with registration formalities and head to Akagera Game Lodge for lunch. After lunch, drive through the park to Lake Ihema, the largest lake in the park and the second largest in Rwanda.
Enjoy the boat ride and explore crocs and hippos. After the boat ride, we will head to the Lodge for check in and getting ready for the 17h30 departure for an evening/night game drive in search for nocturnal animals.
Have dinner by 09:00 pm, order the next day picnic lunch and stay over for tomorrow full-day game drive.
Day 2 - Full-Day Akagera National Park Game Drive
Have your breakfast and check out to be ready at 07:00 am for pick-up by Universal Africa Safaris driver-guide, ready for a full-day game drive.
Pick the picnic lunch and spend the whole day as you will explore the majestic Akagera National Park, home to a variety of savannah animals and wildlife.
Akagera National Park has a diversity of wildlife including Big Five, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas and many others.
After a long time being extinct in Akagera National Park, the black rhinos and lions have recently been restocked. Their sighting is always not guaranteed due to their small number and the hiding character of the black rhino.
Enjoy the game drive viewing the natural habitat of different animals, birds and enjoying the view of different lakes and landscape.
Finally, drive back to Kigali. You will be dropped to your hotel, airport or any other preferred place in Kigali city.
